Jake The Snake Review

Blake Mitchamore wrote a new blog on CSRWrestling.com where he reviewed the documentary that was released recently on Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Here’s a sample:

Never under estimate the power you give someone by believing in them. Never under estimate the power you give yourself by believing in you

That’s a quote from Diamond Dallas Page when he inducted Jake Roberts into the WWE Hall Of Fame. I didn’t put a lot of stock into those words that night. After watching The Resurrection of Jake The Snake I know those words are absolutely true. Diamond Dallas Page didn’t fix Jake Roberts. He believed in Jake Roberts. That belief gave Jake Roberts the power to fix himself.

I loved how real this movie was. It would have been very easy for the producers of the film to edit it together making Jake look absolutely fantastic. They didn’t do that. They showed you an accurate portrayal of what struggling with addiction really is. It’s a battle that you endure every single day of your life for the rest of your life. It’s a battle that can be won if you want to beat it. When Jake Roberts began to believe that he saw true change in his life.

His physical health got drastically better. The Jake Roberts we see at the beginning of the movie and the Jake Roberts we see at the end of the movie are two completely different people. His emotional health got drastically better. Jake realized what it feels like to be genuinely happy again. Once he realized how that feels he wasn’t willing to accept anything less for himself.  The best part of this entire movie was watching the restoration of Jake’s relationship with his family. His children always loved their father and wanted him to change. When they saw real change in him they began to open up their hearts and believe in their dad once again. The belief Dallas showed in Jake gave Jake the willingness to fight. The belief Jake’s kids showed in him gave him the willingness to never give up.

Jake was willing to put the work in, he was willing to believe in himself again. That belief and hard work gave Jake his life back. Now Jake is a man who has the strength to fight his demons. Jake is a man who can be a father to his kids and a grandfather to his grandkids. Jake Roberts is a man who can be happy. He is a man who has been truly resurrected.
