On the what the future of TNA Impact Wrestling on television in 2016 may be:

JP: I think there’s lot of questions if you’re a TNA performer. I think there’s many that are very much in the dark and maybe are listening to you Nick for guidance on what is happening next. I think that for them the issue they have to overcome now is that it’s not just one home that decided to go and get rid of TNA; in SpikeTV. Now we are reliving that a second time around and there’s a lot of changes that are going on at Destination America. I don’t think it’s 1000% going to be a given decision when you’re changing your head of programming. There’s always the option that someone could have a change of heart about TNA. However, they have to overcome the idea, if they are in fact leaving Destination America, that’s two strike outs at networks at this point. Do you perceive that they are able to take an upward step? It’s not just landing a TV deal it’s landing the right television deal that’s going to put you in as many homes as possible. A network that will be behind you both financially and with other resources. We saw quickly the marriage between Destination America and TNA disintegrate pretty quickly. Where this was announced as this multi-year deal that was going to have all this shoulder programming. The narrative was that, “We are going to a smaller network in Destination America but it’s rapidly growing and we are going to be all over the place.” That quickly did not come to pass. They were left with their one show on Wednesday nights. Dixie Carter said, “We cannot survive as a two hour show once a week.” When the Spike deal was still in effect. To me it’s all of these questions that surround what kind of a deal can you pull out of the fire. At a time when I think a lot of networks are going to be more conservative with television right fees that they are handing out to all of these different options that are out there. Whether it’s live sports or otherwise.

You can listen to Nate talking about TNA Impact Wrestling on WrestleZone Daily earlier today starting at the 5:50 minute mark in the embedded audio player below. Some of his comments about the future of TNA Impact Wrestling have been transcribed below it:

On where Nate sees the future of TNA Impact Wrestling heading in to 2016:

NM: The more things change with TNA the more they stay the same. To me it all comes down to television. It’s a company that could survive without TV but in this day and age if you don’t have that broadcast partner, are you really doing anything? Are you just surviving instead of thriving? Trying to be a viable option for wrestling fans out there. I had the chance to talk to Davey Richards this past week from The Wolves. Basically, while Davey was optimistic he didn’t really tell us anything impending coming down the pipe for TNA. We are rapidly closing out 2015. 2016 is on the horizon. If they don’t have anything or if there’s not at least something being talked about that has a little bit of steam and momentum behind it… I don’t know what they are going to do. The options out there for pro wrestling in general, with cable networks out there and this company in particular. That has had so many starts and stops. That has had so many blemishes on their record, on their reputation. I don’t know if they’re going to be able to find somebody to work with them.
