Real Reason For Vince
Blake Mitchamore has a new blog on CSRWrestling.com talking about a real reason Vince McMahon should be freaking out. Here’s a sample:
It doesn’t matter whether you chant “Let’s Go Cena” or you chant “Cena Sucks”. When John Cena comes on your television screen you always watch. Like it or not John Cena is the only legitimate “Star” on the WWE roster. After Hell in a Cell John Cena is going home for 2-3 months. If the WWE doesn’t change their approach it could be a MASSIVE hit to business.
We hear rumors that Vince McMahon is FREAKING OUT over the current ratings. If that’s true then he has to really be FREAKING OUT that John Cena won’t be on TV till sometime in December at the earliest. Let’s look at a couple of things WWE needs to do to help ease the blow of life without John Cena.
TAKE RISKS- WWE storylines are incredibly predictable and boring at the moment. Taking risks doesn’t always mean jumping right back into the attitude era or PG-13 programming. You keep hyping the Divas Revolution why not give the Divas a chance to main event some shows and see what happens? Instead of booking your champion against guys like Kane and Randy Orton or even Sting why not try some young guys? Book Rollins in a feud with a Cesaro or even elevate Dolph Ziggler to a spot he’s deserved for years.

Fix WWE RAW
Part 1 of Shane Shoemaker’s blog a few days ago addressed issues with Monday Night RAW. His part 2 is all about ways to fix RAW. Here’s a sample:
Don’t Forget It’s A Television Show
-
Learn From Lucha Underground – I mentioned in a blog weeks back that if Lucha Underground returned, it could help change professional wrestling, at least from a television production standpoint. Lucha doesn’t have backstage segments, it has professionally developed, multi-camera angle shot cut scenes. Lucha has no problem coming right out and telling you it’s a television show…but doesn’t insult you by perfectly placing cameras backstage that their performers sometimes “can’t see”.WWE has always been similar to the likes of Apple in seeing what their competition is doing and usually making it better. If WWE can take Lucha’s format of producing television and put their own twist on it by making it their own, it would totally change how all their shows are produced. It doesn’t have to be the exact same format, it’s more of the fact that there needs to be a change in general format of the show from most aspects. WWE could put their own spin on it.
-
Seasons – This is also something that Lucha did that no other wrestling promotion has done before — have a season finale…actually taking time off. There’s been much debate on talents well-being that either certain ones should be given time off each year, or that the company as a whole could take a minimal hiatus. Of course, WWE doesn’t want to give up the “longest running episodic television show” title that Raw so preciously holds; “Time off” is taboo in WWE. But, if it were to happen, you could make NXT a point of interest during the time off, and fans would (hopefully) be looking forward to the return of the main roster shows. The best time for season endings would be the Raw and SmackDown afterWrestleMania or SummerSlam, as the product tends to coast during those times; and returning around late October, early November.
