The following are excerpts from the interview:
On his relationship with Jake Roberts:
DDP: Jake has done a lot for me too. You know, a lot of people they don’t remember where they came from. They don’t remember who helped them out. They get to the top of the world and they think, “Oh, I did this all myself.” I have never been like that. I don’t really mention my career without mentioning Dusty Rhodes because without The American Dream, God bless his soul, I love him like a brother. He was a brother to me. Without him I never have gotten the opportunity. He just gave me an opportunity. Without Jake Roberts I would have never forgotten anything he did for me. It’s why we have always reached out to help each other. He helped me so much, without Jake Roberts there’s no three time world champion. There’s no main event guy. There’s probably a 99.999% chance that I’m not sitting in the DDP Yoga Performance Center right now that’s 6,300 sq ft.
On whether we will see Diamond Dallas Page inducted in to the WWE Hall of Fame in Dallas:
DDP: It would be pretty cool but you never know what is going to happen with that. I really, more than anything, hope to see Michael Hayes “The Fabulous Freebird,” one of the most entertaining guys ever in our business inducted. Drew a ton of money, was his own animal, I believe he should have gone in a bunch of times.
