Social Media
Blake Mitchamore has a new blog on CSRWrestling.com that talks about teaching young Superstars and Divas how to handle their social media accounts.
The WWE performance center is a state of the art facility. The WWE can take a talent who has no wrestling background and make them a future superstar. The time has come to stop focusing solely on producing the next generation of WWE talent. The focus needs to change to making them successful superstars and successful human beings.
Last year, risqué pictures of WWE Champion Seth Rollins surfaced via social media. Just a few weeks ago, NXT Talent Zahra Schreiber was fired because pictures with Nazi images surfaced on her social media. This week, ANOTHER NXT talent Jasmin had racially insensitive content surface on her social media. One instance can be excused, three instances is a problem that has to be addressed.
The WWE needs to look to other professional sports leagues across the country. The NFL holds rookie symposiums every year to train their incoming players on the pitfalls of the professional athlete life. The NBA holds a similar program with their young players. Here locally even the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders hold social media classes for their incoming cheerleaders. (Yes I’m man enough to admit that I have watched episodes of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader’s television show.)
