Tonight’s WWE NXT tapings saw three shows recorded for the WWE Network, and will air next week and after WWE NXT Takeover.

Former NXT champion Kevin Owens came out at tonight’s tapings with the WWE NXT Championship, currently held by Finn Balor. This could mean Owens will defeat Balor at Takeover, although it was unconfirmed which week this would air. Balor did end one episode (which would be next week’s go-home show) that he will beat Owens at Takeover. Owens having possession of the title may give away the match result, but it’s always likely a backstage promo could explain Owens getting the title or it’s a swerve by WWE.

Sasha Banks also worked tonight’s tapings with the NXT Women’s title against Gionna Daddio, who made her debut. This again could spoil her retaining against Bayley at Takeover, or just be explained at a later date. It’s not out of the ordinary to have the commentary team explain that a specific match was recorded before the title win or loss to keep up with continuity.
