The event opened with the ring announcer standing in the ring and introducing members of the Pena family (owners), the English broadcast team, and the Spanish broadcast team. The ring announcer spoke in Spanish and there was no American commentary while he spoke.
The camera showed a wide shot of the arena. There were some open rows on the floor (which may end up filled) and it was hard to tell if anyone was in the upper tier of the building, but it appeared packed otherwise…
A video package aired with the Mission Impossible theme playing. It featured classic shots along with graphics of the matches that will air on this event… An impressive pyro show occurred on the stage…
A graphic noted that there were audio difficulties as a group of women carried AAA flags to the ring… Ring entrances for the opening match took place…
1. Drago, Goya Kong, Dinastía, and Pimpinela Escarlata vs. Daga, Sexy Star, Mini Psycho Clown, and Mamba in a Relevos Atómicos de locura match. As the match got started, the English broadcast team finally checked in at a very low volume. It sounded like we heard someone in the production truck (Court Bauer?) instead. They raised the volume, but it’s still a bit distant.
At 7:45, there were some big dives that peaked with the heavyset Goya doing a summersault onto opponents on the floor. Pimpanella applied a cool submission hold on Star and got the win. Afterward, Pimpinela kissed Striker on the cheek at ringside…

There was a ceremony held for AAA referee Pepe Casas. Hugo noted that Pepe would work his final match as a referee. Pepe moved slowly. He was well received by the fans, then a video package aired on Villano III, who is working his final match…
The Psycho Circus had circus performers perform on the stage and at ringside as part of their entrance. Striker’s volume improved briefly, then he got quiet again. One of the Villano’s cut a promo in Spanish. Hugo translated as he spoke…
2. Los Villanos vs. The Psycho Circus. Hugo explained that anything goes in a trios match, meaning it doesn’t have to be one-on-one action. Striker and Hugo spoke about the history between the families that make up the two teams.
Striker also noted that they are still working on the audio, as a buzzing sound occurred. Then Hugo got really quiet right when Striker asked him to explain the family history. Striker said the crowd seemed split between the teams, but it was hard to get a feel for that given the audio mix. In the end, one of the Villanos got the pin for his team.
Los Villanos beat The Psycho Circus in 10:40.
Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.
