Eliminated WWE Tough Enough contestant Chelsea Green spoke with Scott Fishman of The Miami Herald, and the following are some interview highlights:
On why she wanted to be on the show:
“I was not on this to be on a TV show and for people to get to know me in that sense,” she said.
“I was on it for people to get to know me as a wrestler and as this character I wanted to portray myself as. I don’t think that was a negative quality. Maybe it didn’t get me to the end in this situation. But down the road, that may be why I get to the end.”
On getting a second chance after her initial Tough Enough tryout:
“I felt I trained hard enough at home that I could keep up with them when I got there…I think naturally when I walked in they were a little put-off. How could you not be? It’s a competition. It’s like what they said to me before that if there is anyone who deserves this opportunity and second chance it was me. I came into the tryouts with the experience and the knowledge. I wasn’t going to throw that in their face, but I was definitely going to use that to my advantage. So I think they were a little nervous.”
On her future:
“I think I’m going to head back and spend a little bit of time with my family,” Green said.
“Then I’m going to get straight back into training. I’m going to make sure that I’m training in the ring with Lance everyday and working as hard as I can in the gym. I want to get a coach for outside the ring as well because that plays a huge part in it. I’m going to do as much as I can to make sure I get to the top as quickly as I can. At this point all I can do is train.
“I know that I love this. I know this is what I’m meant to do. So I won’t stop. I’m just going to keep going. They can tell me no for the next 10 years, but it’s not going to stop me. I’ll keep training and get there.”
