WWE RAW Results (7/27) – Owens vs Orton, The ‘Revolution’ Continues, Cena vs Rollins!

United States Championship
Seth Rollins vs John Cena (c)

Rollins hits Cena a few times and applies a headlock as we go to a break, then we get back to see Cena connect with a side slam. Rollins kicks him in the face and goes for a splash, but Cena rolls away and hits a tornado DDT for two. Rollins comes right back with a suicide dive and a diving knee off the ropes, then he hits Cena in the corner and catches him with a knee strike that looks like it broke Cena’s nose. Rollins hits a buckle bomb and gets a two count, then the doctor’s come in and check on Cena as he is bleeding on the mat.

Rollins picks Cena up for a Pedigree as the doctor leaves, but Cena counters and hits a springboard stunner. Cena goes for an Attitude Adjustment but Rollins floats over and kicks him in the face and gets two. Cena goes for another AA and connects, but Rollins kicks out and Cena heads up top, only for Rollins to cut him off and hit a superplex. Rollins rolls through into an immediate sitout suplex, then he goes for a Phoenix Splash but Cena rolls away and makes him tap to the STF.

Winner – John Cena

That was a hell of a match; lots of great spots including the superplex into sitout suplex combo, and Rollins bringing out the Phoenix splash (even if unsuccessful). Rollins caught Cena with a vicious knee that bent Cena’s nose sideways, and will surely be mentioned again. Really glad they let this end clean (for once), as it gives Cena an earned reason to challenge Rollins for the WWE title. Really good wrestling show tonight, with this, Orton/Owens and the Divas matches standing out.
