Stone Cold Steve Austin recently commented on the rumored ‘heat’ between he and WWE or Vince McMahon, which was even brought up and joked about on a recent Roddy Piper podcast.
To the contrary, Austin worked out the deal with WWE and WWE Games/2K Sports to appear on the cover of the new WWE 2K16 video game, which Austin said (on his latest podcast) that he was “excited and honored” about. Austin said “about 99 percent” of people are happy for him and he gets why there are those that aren’t thrilled with a non-active star nabbing the cover.
Austin said the 2K deal was going on around the time of the rumors of “heat” with WWE, but he couldn’t say anything to dispel things or anything about the game cover. Austin added,
“This was going on when I had ‘alleged heat’ between WWE; and I couldn’t say anything because it wasn’t time [to announce the game cover]. For them to dust me off and bring me out of the closet means a lot.”
Austin did hint at a big announcement that he said would be “devoured” by his fans/followers, but offered nothing else. This comment led to speculation about anything from a Tough Enough host announcement to a WWE return, neither of which materialized.
