As Game of Thrones wrapped this past weekend, HBO gears up for its new Sunday night line. Ballers, the new comedy series produced by Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg, featuring The Rock as a retired NFL legend, premieres this Sunday at 10:15 p.m. ET (15 minutes earlier on the West coast).
The show will follow True Detective and The Brink, a new comedy series from Jack Black, before the Sunday night block wraps up with Last Night Tonight with John Oliver.
The Rock stars as the lead in Ballers aside relative newcomers Jazmyn Simon and Donovan W. Carter, plus comedian Rob Corddry (Children’s Hospital, Hot Tub Time Machine) and Omar Benson Miller (CSI: Miami). Dule Hill of Psych fame is also reported to play a role in the show. The first season will run for 10 half-hour episodes.
