WWE on Bill Simmons’ Firing
14-year ESPN veteran and long-time pro wrestling fan Bill Simmons, who is quite possibly the most popular sports writer in history, was shockingly fired from ESPN last week. The WWE Universe Twitter account posted the following:
Just heard @BillSimmons is leaving @ESPN. He did a good job on @WWE #RAW.Maybe he’s got a future ringside? pic.twitter.com/Q4yyAH4b94

For those with the obvious question on their minds, it’s highly unlikely WWE could land Simmons in any full-time capacity. He was making almost $5 million per year, and no potential creative writer or journalist is worth one tenth of that to the company.
Hogan Does the Weather
The Immortal Hulk Hogan appeared on FOX 5 in Washington D.C. to plug this weekend’s Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure that took place in the area.
Hogan noted that at 61-years-old he still hits the gym about five times every week, “to keep up with all the young guys.” While this story is probably out there already, he also mentioned it was Vince McMahon Sr. who took the “Terry the Hulk Boulder” concept – which originated from a joke that he was bigger than the comic book character – and turned him into Hulk Hogan.
