2/22 Wrestlezone Recap: Here’s Your WrestleMania Card, Samoa Joe Leaves TNA, Why DY’s Support of Pacquiao is Ridiculous, WWE Doctor Suing CM Punk & More

Samoa Joe Parts Ways w/ TNA

Samoa JoeAfter ten years with the company, former world champion Samoa Joe has officially departed TNA Wrestling. It was confirmed that the “Samoan Submission Machine” was not fired, nor did he abruptly ask for his release; his contract simply expired, and a deal could not be reached that satisfied both parties

Joe is just the next in a long line of TNA veterans that includes AJ Styles, Bully Ray and Sting, who have all been forced out by shrinking deals, as the company simply can’t sustain itself by paying the top talents what they deserve to be paid. It all comes down to finances, and with the jump to Destination America it was clear some major cuts needed to be made.

A surprise to no one, the industry opened its arms wide to Joe with a shower of admiration from TNA and WWE stars alike, and everyone in between. The wrestler says he’s currently looking through offers, and there are many in WWE who feel he’d be an incredible asset to their roster. Only time will tell.
