AJ Styles defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi to become the new IWGP World Heavyweight title. Styles is the 62nd champion, entering his second run with the belt after a 163-day run in 2014.
The Young Bucks beat both reDRagon and The Time Splitters to win back the IWGP Jr. Tag Team titles, entering their second run. And not to be outdone, “Machine Gun” Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows defeated Hirooki Goto and Shibata to win back the IWGP Tag Team titles. The Bullet Club lost the belts at Wrestle Kingdom in January ending their first run at exactly one year.
