Diamond Dallas Page was a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, and Page was promoting his DDP Yoga, in addition to talking about helping Jake Roberts and Scott Hall.
Page was asked how he felt about playing a role in Hall and Roberts’ recovery, and Page said,
“They were blackballed pretty much. The company—they tried… I think Jake went to eleven rehabs and Scott went to twelve. The company paid for almost all of those. Not all of them. I think Scott said he paid for a few on his own, as well. He doesn’t really like to take things from people. And then they both get sober in the same year, in the same house and then go into the Hall of Fame at the same time. It was my 58th birthday when they had the Hall of Fame last year. It was like the greatest birthday present ever.”
Page also gave his opinions about the Monday Night War show on the WWE Network, and Page said he could appreciate the shows, but they may be skewed a bit in WWE’s favor.
“I think they’re good, but they definitely have their own slant on it. But I always say, the history is written by the winners. If they would have done it where it was down the middle, I think the people who know—people who watched would know, ‘That’s bullsh*t.’ But it’s still pretty good for WWE to put WCW over when they do.”
