Earlier this week we reported that Chris Jericho was being advertised for a WWE Live show the night before the 2015 Royal Rumble PPV.
While we originally thought this was an indication that he would be returning during the Rumble match itself, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Jericho is working out a deal with WWE that would seem him work a major house show schedule throughout the months of January and February.
While it’s possible that Y2J could be brought to television for WrestleMania season, the current plan is to use him to boost live event sales while he’s not on tour with Fozzy. With the roster split into two for touring, the main event talent is very thin with Daniel Bryan and Roman Reigns out of action, Randy Orton only working limited live dates, and the WWE Champion not doing any house shows. The early months of 2015 will be “all hands on deck” to boost sales going into WrestleMania 31.
