TNA Impact Wrestling Results (8/27) – Chris Melendez Debut, Title Picture Clears Up, Tag Team Championship Series Begins!

Ethan Carter III (w/ Rockstar Spud) vs Rhino

Rhino whips Ethan and hits him, then Ethan comes back with a clothesline and another out of the corner for a near fall. Rhino comes back with some shoulder blocks and a fallaway slam, then he sets up a Gore but Spud pulls on his leg. The ref tries to get rid of Spud so Ethan low blows Rhino, but Rhino kicks out of the pin attempt and follows with a clothesline. Rhino hits a belly-to-belly suplex and goes for another Gore, but Spud once again grabs him and jumps on the apron. Rhino hits him and knocks him off the apron, then Ethan grabs a chair and hits Rhino for the blatant disqualification.

Winner (by disqualification) – Rhino

BP: As much as I like Ethan and Spud, I really don’t care much for this feud. Both of them are still pretty much heels; I can’t see any sympathy for Rhino. He just sold his friends out for Ethan’s money, and Ethan only had Rhino on payroll. I’m not sure why I should care that a guy who screwed his friends over is now getting screwed over by his employer “for hire.”

James Storm comes out and says he’s the leader of a revolution, and he leads men who need a reawakening, the first of many is the Great Sanada! Sanada makes his way out wearing the facepaint similar to the Great Muta, and he waits for his match with Austin Aries.

The Great Sanada (w/ James Storm) vs Austin Aries

Aries counters an armbar with a Japanese armdrag and crucifix rollup, then he goes for Last Chancery before taunting Sanada in the corner. Sanada bows to Storm and punches Aries in the corner, then he chops him and hits two backbreakers for a near fall. He applies a headlock but Aries breaks it, then he sends Sanada outside and hits a suicide dive into the barricade. Aries rolls him in and hits a missile dropkick, then he goes for an IED but Sanada kicks him in the face. Aries comes back with a discus forearm and an IED, then he calls for a Brainbuster but Sanada bites him and slams his head into the turnbuckles. Sanada sets Aries on the turnbuckles but Aries punches him a few times, then he boxes his ears and tries to jump off the ropes. Storm shakes the ropes behind the ref’s back, then Sanada sprays mist into Aries’ eyes while the ref yells at Storm, and Sanada hits a superkick for the win.

Winner – The Great Sanada
