“Monday Night Wars” on Tonight
WWE is advertising that episode two of Monday Night War will premiere tonight at 9/8C immediately after Main Event, live on the WWE Network. Tonight’s episode is titled “Rise of the nWo” and focuses on The Outsiders coming to WCW, Hulk Hogan’s heel turn at Bash at the Beach, and how the formation of the nWo impacted the Monday Night Wars against WWE Raw.
KILLAM: I don’t know if this is an error, or if they’re just intentionally ignoring this to draw hype, but the second episode is already out on the Network. They were airing it this afternoon, and you can already watch it on-demand in the ORIGINALS section.
8/25 WWE Raw Viewership
The 8/25 edition of WWE Raw brought in an average viewership of 3.97 million. The first hour featuring Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan kicking off the show, did the worst with 3.859M, followed by 4.057M and 4.005M in the second and third hour, respectively. We will have final rating information for last night’s show later tonight.
KILLAM: That’s probably not what WWE wanted to hear, as they stacked the first hour to try to get out in front of the Emmys, which had about 15.5M last night. With legends on the show so frequently, their drawing power is really limited, if not non-existent at this point. They have one more week of NFL-free Monday nights, so they better make it count.
