NXT & Superstars Moved to New Time Slot on WWE Network; Update on Tonight’s Live Coverage, Spirit Squad Reunion Confirmed for King of Trios

New Time Slot for NXT/Superstars

WWE NXT and Superstars were given new time slots on the WWE Network today, as they aired in the 4-6PM ET bracket. According to today’s schedule, the shows will also replay in their normal 9-11PM ET slot as well. According to the Network, the programming guide for next week is still “unavailable”, so it’s unknown at this time if the move is temporary, or a permanent one.

Because of the late notice, Wrestlezone will still be proving live coverage of WWE NXT as per usual tonight, beginning at 9PM ET. We will keep you updated on our plans for Thursday night as more information becomes available.

Spirit Squad Reunion Coming Soon

Three former WWE Superstars – Johnny Jeter, Mike Mondo and Kenny Dykstra – will be reuniting as the Spirit Squad for Chikara’s upcoming King of Trios tournament. The three-day event will take place in Palmer, PA kicking off on September 19th.

A total of 16 trios will team up over the course of three nights for the company’s biggest, and often best event of the year. This will be the 7th incarnation of the tournament, and its return for the first time since 2012, as Chikara was on hiatus last year. You can check out the official animated promo for it below, or visit chikarapro.com for more information.

KILLAM: For those of you who were spared the years of WWE’s Spirit Squad tag team, it was a group of five male wrestlers dressed up as cheerleaders. They often did the bidding of the McMahon family during their rivalry with Degeneration X. The most notable guy to come out of the faction is current Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler. Mike Mondo has made quite a few appearances for Ring of Honor.
