First Round Match
SIN CARA & KALISTO vs. BUDDY MURPHY & WESLEY BLAKE
Kalisto starts off the match and does some high flying lucha moves on Muddy Murphy. He and Sin Cara alternate in with quick tags doing fun double team moves, including an elevated wheelbarrow (?) senton splash…or something. Murphy and Blake assume the obligatory heel roles and briefly double team Kalisto. Sin Cara makes the hot tag and comes off the top rope, springboarding into a crossbody on both guys. Sin Cara deadlifts Murphy into the air and Kalisto comes off the top rope with a missile dropkick. Kalisto with standing Sliced Bread #2 on Murphy for the win.
Winners: SIN CARA & KALISTO
KILLAM: This Lucha team is fantastic. The best part of NXT each and every week they’re on the show. Sin Cara (Hunico) is TV experienced, and Kalisto is TV ready at this point, so there’s really no reason to keep them in NXT for the next year. I wouldn’t mind seeing them as NXT champions, as I don’t care about the Ascension at all, but I’d rather see Kalisto and Cara on the main roster.
