Rhino hits Dreamer a few times and whips him, and Dreamer kicks him in the face but Rhino comes right back with a spinebuster. Ethan stomps Dreamer in the corner but Dreamer catches him with a STO into the turnbuckles, then Bully clotheslines Ethan and backdrops Rhino into the corner. He knocks Rhino outside and hits Ethan with a Bionic Elbow, then Dreamer assists with an elevated neckbreaker for two. Rhino breaks it up and throws Bully into the guardrail, then Dreamer hits Ethan with a Death Valley Driver but Spud jumps on the apron. Dreamer pulls him in the ring and chokes him, but Ethan uses the distraction to roll Dreamer up for the win.
Winners – Ethan Carter III & Rhino
BP: The transition from the opening promo to the match was good. Everything made sense, including the dirty win with Spud’s help. They are the best duo (Ethan/Spud) in wrestling IMO; Ethan responding to the ‘you can’t wrestle’ chants with ‘yes I can’ was funny. Also, points to Dreamer for having his Twitter handle and Twitter logo on his pants.
James Storm stops Sanada backstage and says he is smart, driven and disciplined, then he slaps him and says that’s why he likes him. He says Sanada wants to say something, and he listens to his mentor, The Great Muta, but he just a choke artist and a loser. Storm tells him to be careful who he listens to and walks away.
X Division Gauntlet Match
Aries and Eddie trade a few strikes before Manik runs in and hits a hurricanrana, then he counters a whip by Aries and knocks him outside. Manik kicks Eddie in the head and goes to the turnbuckles, but Aries dropkicks them both and hits Manik with a jawbreaker. Aries elbow drops Manik and charges the corner, but Manik leapfrogs him and hits a neckbreaker as Davey Richards makes his entrance. Davey elbows Aries and slingshots him into Eddie, who headbutts Aries, then Eddie and Davey kick Manik in the chest and take him down with some leg sweeps.
DJ Z comes out and gets a near fall with a springboard sunset flip bomb off the apron, then Aries knocks him down but Manik follows with a springboard dropkick. Manik kicks Zema in the head and sends him outside with a hurricanrana, then we get back from a break to see Crazy Steve running from Tigre Uno before Uno throws him on the apron, but Steve eliminates him with a hiptoss. Eddie kicks Steve off the apron to eliminate him, then Sanada hurricanranas Eddie out to the floor before immediately counters Davey’s attack with a backdrop to the floor. (Cont’d…)
