WWE Live Event Results, Springfield IL, 5/30
Bell time was at 7:30 but we got there about an hour early to see some of the superstars arrive. Also, Bob Backland was down in the lobby area selling autographed pictures of himself and a picture with him for 20 bucks.
Uso's def. RybAxel to retain the Tag Team Titles. Afterwards Luke Harped and Eric Rowan assault Jimmy and Jey on the entrance ramp.
Adam Rose def Jack Swagger. Zeb cut a good promo before the match. A tad bit of comedy in this match with Rose. He is really good in the ring. Rose hits his finisher for the pin.
Cesaro def Kofi Kingston. No Heyman with Cesaro tonight. Cesaro was more interesting to me when he was aligned with Zeb. Neutralizer takes the win.
Paige def Naomi via DQ to retain the Divas Title. when Alicia Fox runs interference. Naomi and Paige gang up on her to send her out of the ring.
Sheamus def Alberto Del Rio to retain the U.S Title. This was the best match of the evening with back and forth action and both men getting near falls. Sheamus got a HUGE pop.
Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae def Fandango and Layla. This was a fans choice between a dance off or a mixed tag team match. I really liked the combination of Ziggler and Summer… maybe she could be that missing piece?
Bad News Barrett def Big E to retain the Intercontinental Title. Normal match as you would expect these two to work. Bullhammer for the win.
John Cena and The Shield def The Wyatt Family and Kane
Nice, High paced match. Cena hits his usual 5 moves and reigns hits a spear for the Win. I need to get something off my chest now. I have seen Cena wrestle live about 4 times now and It has basically been the same damn format for his matches. I know that he cannot do a whole lot because of risks of injury to the top star of the company but THIS is why he gets boo'ed and scrutinized. No, I am not just now realizing it but I never took it to heart until i saw just how "vanilla" his matches are especially at live events. Cena still got the biggest pop of the night. Oh and after the show he got escorted back to his bus and had a team of security usher him quickly onto a shuttle to take him and his Bella to the nearby Hilton. A lot of fans standing outside were pretty upset he didn't have any interaction with them besides a wave before he got on his bus. I just rubbed me the wrong way I guess. Anyways, I was a good show. 7/10
