Ken Anderson vs Gunner
(Winner Faces Bobby Roode)
Gunner and Anderson counter each other a few times before Anderson throws a punch, then Gunner hits some clotheslines and a fallaway slam. He heads up top as James Storm hits the ring, but Storm gets knocked off the apron as Anderson whips Gunner into the corner. Anderson charges but Gunner sidesteps him and flips him against the turnbuckles, then Storm inadvertently hits Anderson, not Gunner, and Gunner hits Hanger 18 and makes the cover.
Winner – Gunner
Magnus is complaining about not getting a title shot when a guy named Bram walks in, and Magnus looks happy but asks why he is there. Bram calls him an excuse, then he says Magnus needs to remember who he is, and talks about drinking and camping. Bram calls Magnus soft, and Magnus takes exception and slams him against a locker, but Bram says he is here for Magnus' own good.
Ethan Carter is in the ring talking about how he has the biggest challenge of his career, and it was supposed to happen at Lockdown, but he injured Kurt Angle first. He says he is glad Kurt is back, because he will become the greatest American ever when he beats him and keeps his winning streak. Ethan talks about his wrestling background, then he says he is holding a sparring session and Rockstar Spud will assist him. Spud comes out in traditional wrestling gear and they cut a disclaimer promo, then they lock up a few times before Ethan tells him to assume the position. Ethan puts him in a waistlock when Kurt's music cuts them off, and Kurt says Ethan needs to understand what he's getting into. Kurt says Ethan will be facing a guy out for blood, so his undefeated streak will be over, and he is going to hurt him, and that's damn real.
BP: I still get a kick out of Ethan and Spud; they remind me of a modern day Edge and Christian. This is where comedy works, and Ethan's character is well balanced enough where he can switch it up when threatened. Looking forward to their match next week.
