Good evening wrestling fans – this is Mike Killam, and we are starting tonight's show off with action!
Paige vs. Sasha Banks (w/ Charlotte)
Paige is in her 267th day as the inaugural NXT Women's Champion, just three days less than AJ Lee as the WWE Divas Champion. Paige makes fun of Sasha's shirt and starts putting the boots to her in the corner. Sasha counters with an Irish whip to the corner, slapping away at the back of the champion before tossing her by the hair across the ring. The heel remains in control for several minutes, dropping into a rest hold. She actually uses Paige's own arms to choke her.
The fans cheer Paige back into the match, and the champ fires back with a series of clotheslines. A missile dropkick takes Sasha off her feet, and Paige locks in the Scorpion Cross Lock for the submission victory.
Winner: Paige
Charlotte attacks Paige as soon as the bell rings, but WWE Diva Natalya runs down to makes the save. Nattie checks on Paige as the heels retreat to the back.
Mike's Thoughts: Well that was bland. It's pretty clear as soon as the bell rings that Sasha is totally outclassed as a pro wrestler. Her offense was entirely slaps, screaming, stomping and a single rest hold. Which – by the way – should probably be illegal, since it's a blatant choke hold. Nice to see Natalya in NXT, but why not somebody a bit more relevant to their division, like Emma or…somebody else I haven't been introduced to yet. OK, now I see why it was Natalya.
