Brooke Hogan is backstage putting over Mickie James for her album, but Mickie says she wants the spotlight going into Slammiversary. Brooke makes another Mickie vs. Velvet title match for next week.
Gail Kim vs. Velvet Sky
The bell rings and the Knockouts Champ goes on the offensive right away, throwing right hands and taking down Gail with a running bulldog. She puts the boots to her challenger in the corner, until referee ODB forces her to step. A headscissors takedown sends Gail to the corner, but Kim grabs ahold of Velvet's knee and slams it into the ground. Gail continues to work over the champ's injured knee, stalking her around the ring.
Velvet fights back briefly with right hands, but Gail drops her with another shot to the knee. They fight into the corner and Gail Kim traps her leg in the ropes and pounds away at it. She drops down off the apron and hands the knee over the second rope. A Texas Cloverleaf is locked in in the middle of the ring, but Velvet barely makes it to the bottom rope to break the hold. She heads up to the top turnbuckle, but Velvet gets up and throws her back to the ring. The champ throws a few kicks, but the injured knee gives out. Velvet with a roll-up out of nowhere for the win.
Winner: Velvet Sky
After the match, Gail Kim lays out the champion, and wraps her legs around the ring post, applying the Figure Four. ODB eventually breaks up the hold, but the damage is obviously done.
