Sting gives his Lockdown team a pep talk backstage, and announces that he will go first in tonight's Best-Of-Three series against the Aces & Eights.
A camera crew catches up with Matt Morgan, who speaks indirectly at Hulk Hogan, saying he was going to run through and gut the entire roster until he got what he wanted.
Wes Brisco makes his way down to the ring, as Mike Tenay wonders when we're going to find out who the VP of Aces & Eights is. He talks about his father and uncle being one of the best wrestlers in the history of the industry (?). Wes says that the world will find out at Lockdown that a Brisco is better than an Angle.
Kurt Angle cuts off his whiny rant, and tells Wes that if he doesn't respect Kurt Angle, he doesn't respect the business. Kurt tells him he's going to beat him within an inch of his life right now, before he reveals the VP of Aces & Eights. The two brawl until security – Al Snow and D'Lo Brown – break them up and hold them apart. D'Lo Brown attacks Al Snow from behind, and then turns on Kurt Angle as well. As they are left laying in the ring, D'Lo announces himself as the VP of Aces & Eights.
(2) First Match in a Best-of-3 Series
Sting vs. Devon
Devon is in control of most of the match, until the action spills to the outside and Sting throws his opponent from ring post to barricade, and back again. A random "fan" throws a drink in Sting's face, which allows Devon to attack the Icon and bust him open. They roll back into the ring and Devon picks up the 3-count.
Results: Devon wins via pinfall
