A new report from The Orlando Biz Journal suggests WrestleMania could be heading back to Orlando in 2015 or 2016. The city hosted WrestleMania XXIV in 2008, and it seems WWE has sent a proposal to the Central Florida Sports Commission for the event to return one of those two years.
“The Sports Commission recently received a request for a proposal from WWE for the opportunity to host WrestleMania. The event would take place in late March or early April in either 2015 or 2016,” said the commission in its latest newsletter.
The report also says that the event would take place at the Citrus Bowl, which can seat 70,000-plus.
