Devon is backstage. He says tonight is called Turning Point. His turning point was when a group of men proved they had his back. He tells Kurt Angle not to take the impending ass kicking personal, because he’s just the recipient of a random act of chaos. Devon says it’s all just “club business” and we cut to a short video package of the next match.
Kurt Angle vs. Devon
Angle goes right after it with big right hands. He backs Devon into the corner and lands an uppercut. Devon throws a knee into Angle’s gut and fires back with right hands of his own. They fight into the corner and Devon plants elbows into Angle’s notoriously bad neck. He hits a running shoulder block, sending Angle down to the mat. Devon goes back to the neck, but Kurt doesn’t let that last long and sends his opponent flying with a back body drop. Devon pulls himself into the corner and avoids the rush, sending Angle crashing into the ring post.
They head outside and Devon sends Angle off the barricade and through the steel steps before rolling his opponent back into the ring. The referee gets in Devon’s face about the closed fists, which allows Angle time to fire off with a round of his own. Angle off the top rope with a missle dropkick, and both men are down in the center of the ring. The Olympic medalist with a flying shoulder followed by the belly-to-belly suplex. Backdrop connects and Angle looks for the Olympic Slam, but doesn’t connect as Devon powers out and takes him down with a shoulder block.
Devon heads up to the top rope, but Angle meets him there and throws him to the mat with an over/underhook toss. The Ankle Lock gets slapped on, but Devon rolls it around and throws Angle off. Devon botches a powerbomb attempt, but Angle quickly recovers with a trifecta of German suplexes. Kurt goes up for the Moonsault, but Devon gets up and stops him with a blow to the back, and now Devon hits the running powerbomb with the help from the top rope.
Angle hits the Olympic Slam out of nowhere, but Devon kicks out. The Aces & Eights make their way to the ring and surround the two on the outside, but Angle locks the grapevine on the Ankle Lock and Devon taps out!
Winner via submission: Kurt Angle
After the match, Angle bails from the ring and barely escapes the assault from Aces & Eights. He taunts them on the ramp and DOC screams at him from the ring.
Backstage a camera guy tries to catch up with AJ Styles to no success. He asks him what he’s going to do without a shot at the World Title for a full year. Styles turns around, stares at him angrily and then walks off without saying a word.
Austin Aries is also backstage with Jeremey Borash. He says he’s about to write the final chapter in Jeff Hardy’s long career. He talks about how the deck has been stacked against him, but he’s going to take that deck and shove it down Hardy’s throat. He says he doesn’t need the adoration of the fans, or the support of TNA management. But he says Hardy will need every break he can get, and the support of every one of those fans to keep him from taking back his World Heavyweight title.
