Cena talks about how Fresno doesn't abandon their college if they don't win, because they respect their school and city it's about pride. Cena says his shirt represents all of them, and he might be risking not getting a title shot, but he won't stand there and tell Punk he's the best. He says he needs to believe in himself every night, and there's not one moment in the past year where he thought he would lose to the Rock. Cena says he lost, but he never doubted himself, so if Punk or anyone else doesn't want to give their all they should leave. Cena tells him he held the title for almost a year once, but he didn't run out and demand respect like Punk does, and he says his reign has been forgettable.
Cena says all anyone will remember is when Punk blew Vince McMahon a kiss after leaving the company, but he won't compromise he beliefs. He says he's not going to stroke Punk's ego and he might not get a title shot, but Cena says Punk should prove himself by picking another contender. Cena says he is confident he will get another title shot, but Night of Champions is in his hometown and there's one way Punk can define himself. He says if Punk leaves Night of Champions after beating him, then he will have the respect he wants, but he should make a choice. Cena says he doesn't respect him if he doesn't choose him, then Cena leaves and Punk turns his attention back to King.
Punk says he wants his apology, and it makes sense because he never turned his back on anyone so they should have a talk. Punk says he has always done what he has believed in, and King says it was a misunderstanding but if Punk wants it, he is sorry. King tries to leave but Punk says he's not done, then he says King is great at selling the fans so he should call him the best if Cena won't do it. Punk says King should tell the truth and they can move on, but King says he can't do that, and asks to go back to doing his job. Punk kicks him in the back of the head, then he kneels down and looks at King before staring at the crowd as the show ends.
