Last Friday, WWE Raw GM AJ Lee did an interview with Chad Dukes of 106.7 The Fan CBS Radio DC and the website Chad Dukes Wrestling Show.com.

After congratulating AJ on her ascension to the RAW general manager spot, Chad asked AJ about what it’s been like to go from a in-ring competitor to a major on-air character and not wrestling as often as she has in the past.
I never thought I would open or close Raw and let alone do it multiple times. So it’s very surreal and I appreciate that spot and if that means not getting in the ring, I have a whole career for that. Hopefully, I won’t have a one year career, you know. So if we can do this now, there’s always time to get back in the ring, there will always be a moment, where the time is right. I can put myself in the ring now. I can give myself a title match if I wanted to. So there’s time for that and I love wrestling, and I love being in the ring. But if it doesn’t work right now it doesn’t work right now. It’s in my dream to do kinda all of it.
One of the funniest parts of the interview would have to be AJ’s enjoyment of the picture Dukes painted when discussing his reaction to one of AJ’s defining moments in her recent “crazy chick” run, the Kiss with Kane. After reigning in her giggles, AJ talked about how important that moment was for her character.
That’s kind of like the moment where it all just skyrocketed, ’cause stuff got weird that day.
That’s the stuff like I’m most comfortable with now, I like the weird. I like the moments where, there’s been a lot of moments, there’s actually a poll on dot com, what was my craziest moment. And looking at it you know, I’ve done a lot of out there stuff in the past couple months.
One thing everyone who watches RAW knows is that the WWE is really into social networking. With #RAWactive matches, Twitter trends, and in-show Touts filling the show, Dukes next asked AJ if she thinks there are any limits to where WWE will go with its social network integration.
We have to push limits to kinda see, we’ve always had fans telling us what they want, we have fans coming to the shows with signs, they speak their minds, and they show it. It’s right there in front of everyone’s face. We’re aware that there’s people that have opinions and they want to see particular matches. And so then maybe they’re not happy with what we’re doing. So now we actually have a format, a platform for them to get their opinion on our particular website, where all our traffic is, or our show you know millions of people are watching. We’ll put your face up and you can say, “oh my gosh Daniel Bryan’s crazy.”
Fans are picking opponents or making matches. Our WWE Champion was in a match the fans voted for. We actually had Kane, Rey Mysterio, and the Miz on standby ready to walk through the curtain and they found out when the fans did.
