Backstage: Jeremy Borash Interviews Bully Ray
Backstage, Jeremy Borash is with Bully Ray with more Twitter questions. The tweet-question asks how Ray will compete with a much younger, faster Austin Aries. Ray asks JB if he knows who he is. JB says he’s well aware who Ray is. Ray claims he doesn’t do Twitter, but when he does, he trends worldwide on Twitter. Ray takes things old-school, throwing out a MySpace URL. Ray says he sees fear in Austin Aries’ eyes. He claims he’ll be the most legit bad-ass Aries has ever been in the ring with. Ray claims Aries won’t be able to get him up in the Brainbuster because he’s not man enough, nor big enough, to pull it off with a guy like Ray. Ray concludes by saying he doesn’t care how big Aries’ heart is, because tonight he is going to break it.
Austin Aries vs. Bully Ray
Both guys are in the ring and this one is about to get started. Each guy stares each other down hardcore from opposite corners of the ring. Aries goes straight up to Ray, with no fear, and looks at him face-to-face. Ray talks some trash. Aries talks some back. Both guys circle one-another. Ray keeps exiting the ring now, to avoid physicality with Aries, hiding behind the referee, etc. Ray finally catches Aries off the ropes and powerslams him. Ray then spits in Aries’ face. Aries responds by bitch-slapping Ray repeatedly. Aries is too worked up though, and eats a back-elbow from Ray to slow him down. Ray is in control of this one now. Aries is back dropped to the apron, but he snaps Ray’s neck across the top. Aries goes up to the top, but Ray catches him with a huge boot that sends him sailing to the outside and crashing into the barricade. Aries back has immediately started welting up and bruising. Ray rakes Aries’ eyes, then hits an elbow to the top of the head. Aries hits Ray with a shoulder to the gut and a couple of elbows to the top of the head of his own. Aries drags Ray’s face across the top rope, leaps over the big man, and takes him into the corner. Aries runs into a big boot from Ray. Aries counters out of something and kicks away at Ray, but he ends up eating a pop-up ace crusher, but it’s still not enough to keep Aries down for three and Ray is livid. Ray grabs a chain, but Joseph Park runs to the front, saying Ray can’t do that. Ray pulls Park into the ringside area and grabs a chair, but Aries hits Ray with the Heat Seeking Missile. Ray stumbles back into the ring, and turns around into a top rope missile dropkick. Aries charges in with a dropkick in the corner before hitting the Brainbuster, just as Ray predicted he wouldn’t be able to do. Aries goes for the pin, but Ray kicks out at two. Finally, the finish comes when Aries reverses a Ray powerslam attempt into a Last Chancery submission hold. Ray eventually taps out, giving Aries the victory.
