Band Who Plays Miz, Ziggler & Riley’s Theme Music Speaks Out

Dolph ZigglerArda Ocal (@arda_ocal) and Jimmy Korderas (@jimmykorderas) of Right After Wrestling recently spoke with Zack and Justin, members of the rock band Downstait, who recorded the themes for The Miz, Alex Riley and Dolph Ziggler. Highlights:

Being fans of pro wrestling long before getting to perform their respective theme songs

Their take on getting to hear their songs being used as themes for The Miz, Alex Riley and Dolph Ziggler

Who contacted them to do those theme songs and the "theme song" process from start to finish

The reaction that WWE superstars have to their songs being used as their themes

"We actually saw Dolph Ziggler backstage once and we asked him 'what's happening?' And he just shook it off like we were fans and then we said, 'hey man, we do your theme song' and he just walked passed us and said 'thanks'. 'I am perfection' is a song we did last September, but they just waited for his character to turn harder before they used it.

Would their music branch out to other sports – and if so – where else can fans hear their songs?

Possibly performing at a live WWE PPV event in the future – possibly WrestleMania – like Motorhead or Saliva

"We actually spoke to Miz backstage around WrestleMania 27. I told him it would be cool if we could play him out to the ring but he already had the whole entrance set. And Miz said 'it wasn't a heel-thing to have a band play them to the ring'. And I was like what about Motorhead playing Triple H and even the DX band playing Shawn Michaels out to the ring. And he said they would keep that idea in mind for next year."

Their take on merchandise for the band – and the parallels to selling merchandise in the WWE

All this plus so much more!
