Update on WZ Exclusive: More on Ric Flair/TNA Problems

Ric FlairWZ was the first to report, shortly after the Impact Wrestling event in Brooklyn, NYC, that there was major backstage heat on Ric Flair due to his behavior at the event and him not wanting to appear in front of the live crowd.

The Wrestling Observer has confirmed our report and is noting that there might be a link between the Flair incident in NYC and him not being booked for the subsequent Impact tapings that took place before the Destination X PPV. While some in TNA maintain that Flair was not scheduled for the tapings anyway, as the company was focusing more on the X-Division as it built towards Destination X, there are others who feel there is growing tension between Flair and the company as a result of the house show.

Former WWE star D’Lo Brown was the TNA agent at the Brooklyn house show and reportedly had words with Flair, who didn’t want to appear in front of the live crowd. Flair stated he wasn’t told he would be performing and that he agreed to do an autograph signing as a favor to Terry Taylor (the former VP of TNA talent relations, a title now held by former WWE employee Bruce Prichard). He ended up making an appearance in Asbury Park, New Jersey the following night in front of a much smaller crowd.
