During an interview with Monday Night Mayhem last week, former WWE star Honky Tonk Man had the following to say concerning next year’s Hall of Fame ceremony:
"I think ‘Macho Man’ (Randy Savage), of course will be the headliner. The sad thing is that he’s not going to be there to give his own speech."
It should be noted that The Wrestling Observer previously reported that Savage was open to accepting a Hall of Fame invitation should one be presented to him, but Vince McMahon maintained that Savage would not be given that honor.
Savage’s brother Lanny Poffo, in an interview conducted for The Ottawa Sun, claimed to reveal Savage’s true Hall of Fame feelings by saying the following:
"He said if the Hall of Fame ever comes calling, that it would be all three of us (Randy Savage, Lanny Poffo and father Angelo Poffo) or nothing."
