I was surprised but pleased to see Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin are promoted for this weekend’s PWG 99th show (The 100th show is Sunday).
Back when I was Bookings Director at TNA, PWG had refused to sign a DVD agreement that would allow them to use TNA stars on DVDs restricted to sale on their website or at their live events. PWG refused to sign because they required the right to sell their DVDs anywhere they wished including in stores like Best Buys (where PWG has a DVD on sale through Big Vision). I suggested they use TNA stars either in "dark matches" or on DVDs that weren’t going to be sold in stores but they did not agree agree and canceled the TNA talent ,which at the time was Alex Shelly & Chris Sabin, and posted their frustration on the internet. which got some press.
I understand that this time that PWG understands and has agreed to TNA’s DVD restrictions for its exclusively contracted talent.
Shelly & Sabin face the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Championship Match: The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson), who also appear regularly on the NWA Showcase TV Show.
Also on the shows over the weekend is former TNA star, Sonjay Dutt.
Dutt is in Canada 4/30-5/3, 4/30 in Toronto, 5/1 for CWE in Winniipeg, 5/2 C*4 in Toronto, and 5/3 for CRW inb Montreal
Dutt will appear for JAPW on April 18, and for ROH on May 8-9
