Austin Aries came out and draw the name of his opponent for the Aries’ Lottery and it was Bret Hart. Obviously Hart didn’t come out so Aries called him a coward and told the fans he wasn’t going to defend his title tonight.
Petey Williams then came out and said he wanted the match which Aries accepted after sucker punching him.
Aries b Williams by countout. I was really looking forward for this match, but it came out as a disappointment if you look at the potential this match had. Crowd was dead throughout the match except for chanting "Twinkies". (you know, the snack) at Todd Sinclair everytime he counted.
The biggest pop was for Williams doing a Canadian Destroyer from the 3rd rope. (the first time he’s done it if I’m not mistaken was in Quebec City against El Generico)
Then, Jim Cornette made his way to the ring, being very well received by the fans who didn’t expect him….
