The Miz Trashes an NFL Coach, ROH Receives Absurd Award

ESPN Video Games has an interview up with WWE star The Miz. While the interview is being conducted to hype the Smackdown vs Raw 2010 video game which was released this past Tuesday, The Miz had the following to say about The Cleveland Browns’ head coach Eric Mangini: "A person I’d like to see and smack the s— out of is Eric Mangini. That’s what I’d like to do. He is doing absolutely horrific. He is horrible," says the longtime Browns fan. "Brady Quinn sucks. Derek Anderson sucks. But the reason why they suck is that their offensive line is not giving them time to throw the ball. I want to smack Eric Mangini so hard he poops himself. The Browns are the new Lions. It’s horrific."

The Village Voice, a free newspaper issued in New York City, has given Ring of Honor Wrestling an award. However, it might not be the award ROH was hoping for. In their annual "Best of NYC" issue. The Voice has given ROH the award for "Best Place to Watch Straight Men Get All Homoerotic." The caption in the paper reads the following: "The legions of black-T-shirt-, black-jeans-clad wrestling fans in this world might take offense to what we’re about to say, but here goes: Wrestling is gay. That’s not an epithet (like we’d ever . . .). It just is, literally, gay. When a man in ball-outlining shiny undies wraps his crotch around another man’s head, flexes his muscles, and grunts, the activity has more to do with porn than sports. It’s hard to believe how straight the audience can be, but there you have it. World Wrestling Entertainment is that giant conglomerate you probably caught on TV at one time or another, but for even better theatrics in a more up-close-and-personal setting, try to scout out one of Ring of Honor’s New York dates. Usually playing the intimate Manhattan Center, this indie league hosts a variety of highly toned men basically taking part in stage combat—or auditioning for a Michael Lucas film, we’re not sure. If the gay community ever catches wind, wrestling is going to be as popular with the homos as the WNBA."
