TNA House Show Results from Cardiff:
As soon as people filed into the building, TNA already one-upped WWE by having a screen above the ring. WWE never has a screen and the entrances are always quite bad so well done TNA. Six sides made it’s way "across the pond" so everyone was pleased with that.
Out comes the carnie known as JB. Funny when he gave everyone a funny look when mentioning the 6sided ring. Im sure he nows that a lot of people like it. The usual JB hype stuff really. Fair play to the guy he can really get a crowd going. Place went nuts when he mentioned backstage passes.
Opener: Chris Sabin v Amazing Red v Suicide. No1 Contender for the X Division tite. (Supposedly later on.) Last time I checked Red was the X Champ yeah? Oh had he dropped it on tv yet? No idea! Anyway, pretty good little opener. At the start Sabin was the most over guy but after Red did a nice senton to the floor, he took over. After Suicide used some creative spots in the match, Suicide was the most over guy. Man can that guy work the crowd even though he’s silent! Red took the pin with the code red off the top rope. 3/5 rating.
Beautiful People vs Taylor Wilde and Sarita: Special Referee Hamada. I never could have imagined in my wildest dreams that the Beautiful People really are THAT hot. But DAMN those girls are frigging GORGEOUS! The Beautiful people were over so much(and judging by the reaction because of their looks) that people booed when Taylor or Sarita got any offense. Ok match, nothing special, Velvet humping the ropes got pop of the night so far. 2/5 rating.
Rob Terry vs Eric Young for the Global Championship. Now THIS was the match that people went batshit crazy for! Rob Terry, the welshman, challenging for a major(somewhat) championship in the captial of Wales, Cardiff, drove the people crazy. This seriously doesn’t happen much over here so the people were excited. Terry came out with the welsh flag and was as over as you’d imagine with someone being from their home country. Eric Young was FANTASTIC as a heel. He knew exactly what to do at what time to draw heat. When they announced Rob Terry as being from Cardiff, some people actually booed because he’s from Swansea which is a few miles away and there’s a HUGE rivalry between the two places. That was funny. The match itself was the shits. Terry doing test’s of strength and just throwing EY around the ring whilst he begge off. Got lots of time though. Match ended with Terry pinning EY after a powerslam to capture the Global title. THAT was when the roof came off the building. I do think Rob is a crap worker but you know what? It was such a fell-good moment I forgot all that. The dude looked genuinely moved at the response and thanked the crowd saying this was for them. 2/5 rating.
Six Man Tag Team Table Match: Team 3D and Kurt Angle vs Hernandez, The Pope and Rhino. As soon as 3D announced Angle as their partner the place erupted like it was Hulk Hogan in his prime. Angle’s been to Cardiff before, but never got this superstar reaction. The match was awkward in part due to the mix of heel/face. For example, Hernandez seemed to swap and change when it suited him. There was a group in front of me who LOVED Super Mex. They were chanting his name ALL throughout this match. The guy was so humble that he tried to get everyone to chant for whoever was in the ring. It was quite the sight. Pope is pimping chants were AWESOME! Im guessing Angles working hurt because he did a tag and did very little, just popped off some trademark suplexes. Bryan and Dave, if you could update me on this that’d be great! What I mean is I think the Pope got hurt. He nearly took a full on Sabu type neck injury. He landed awkwardly on his head and rolled to the side of the ring. He looked hurt when Angle gave him a suplex and that was all you saw for the rest of the match. Angle put Rhino through a table(then pinned him, what?) for the finish.
