UP A STEP: STAFF WRITERS OF WWE
(These are not actually the staff writers for the show, although the show would be very interesting if it was)
They were smart enough to realize that Bret Hart hurting his leg was not only demeaning to him in real life (considering previous ventures in the WWE), but was incredibly fake, and offended me as a viewer. Having Bret reveal that his injury was fake completely changed the story around.
The undertones regarding Stone Cold being there was perfect, as it tied in another long running story of the sport. McMahon is also allowing the story to depict him even further as an evil and selfish man. I am always impressed with his ability to separate his character on the show with himself in real life. I say this because he is the owner, playing an evil owner.
