Non-Title Match

Jeff Jarrett vs TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles (w/ Ric Flair)

The match starts with the two men trying to lock up but AJ gets the upper hand and begins to taunt Jarrett. AJ is showboating and tells Jarrett to come get some more. Jarrett finally trips up AJ and hits some hip tosses and clotheslines AJ out to ringside and taunts Ric Flair by doing his own JJ strut. Jarrett goes back to AJ on the outside and tosses him back in the ring. Jarrett hits an enziguri and gets a near fall. AJ retaliates by hitting a kneebreaker then slaps on the figure four leglock. Flair hands AJ his cane for some added leverage but the ref catches this and threatens to toss Flair. Jarrett goes for his own figure four but AJ reverses it. Jarrett grabs the ropes but Flair tries hitting his hands off with the cane. Again the referee sees this and finally throws Flair out and security sends him backstage. AJ is distracted by Flair being ejected and Jarrett throws him back into the ring over the top rope as we go to a break.

During the break there was a slight tangle up with the referee that allowed AJ to regain control of the match. Jarrett tries going for a schoolboy but is cut off and AJ hits a jumping kneedrop. Jarrett hits a backbody drop and some running clotheslines before hitting a side suplex on AJ. Jarrett hits a jumping facebuster (Pedigree) on Styles but only gets a two count. Jarrett goes up top but AJ counters with an underhook throw and hits the springboard elbow for a near fall. He attempts the Styles Clash but Jarrett fights out and slams AJ to the ground. Both men are down and the referee begins to count to ten but is interrupted by Ric Flair who came back out to ringside. Jarrett sends AJ off the ropes and accidentally bumps the referee to the outside. Jarrett has AJ on the middle rope and hits the Stroke, but there is no referee to make the count. Eric Bischoff runs into the ring from the audience and has a guitar in hand. Bischoff was going to hit Jarrett with it, but Jarrett stopped Bischoff. Styles hit Jarrett with a low blow and then got the win with the Styles Clash.

Winner: AJ Styles

Backstage Segment:

JB is in the back with Eric Young, RVD and Jeff Hardy. EY says he is in this business for the right reasons, and Nash isn’t. He tells Nash he just jumped on a sinking ship. RVD says the Band has been disrespecting too long and they have EY’s back. Jeff Hardy says the Band has trying to hold guys like them down on the ladder to success because they can’t shine Hardy’s boots. EY looks into the camera and asks Nash to look at his partners, and ask himself who traded up.
