Match 1…
After Jeff Jarret threatened to take away backstage passes, Samoa Joe defeated Jarret in about 5 minutes, we actually got a match out of these 2 and the crowd was able to get their backstage passes!!! Joe won with the Kokina(?) Clutch
Next up Jay Lethal and Doug Williams…
Crowd was pro Williams from where I was sitting… maybe just from where I was sitting…
Lethal wins with the lethal-combo (which in Chicago is called a beef and sausage)
Madison Rayne picked up the win on Angelina Love… nothing to note, but they were nice if you got the chance to meet them…
Up next the match of the night (which says A LOT about the current state of TNA)…
Beer Money versus Eric Young and Orlando Jordan…
I don’t know exactly what happened here, but it was very fun nonetheless… Young wrestled the ref, he wrestled his partner, he wrestled his self, he tagged in Beer Money, he pinned Dave Hebner for a 2 count but after completing the BEER! MONEY! ERIC! Chant, Storm and Roode hit Young with the DWI… Some Kids were chanting Boring and this stoner chick next to me kept booing Young. I guess she and the rest of the kids had NO idea what was going on… Am I the only one who picks up on the irony that Orlando Jordan is playing the “straight one” in this tag team?
Intermision- got to go backstage meet Anderson and Foley, wasn’t too interested in Abyss, Jarret, and Lethal, though I did give fist bumps to Young, O.J. and Morgan as they walked past…
Back and we get Rhyno against Matt Morgan, after some boring chants we got a carbon footprint to Rhyno, Morgan picks up the win… easily the low-point of the night… but wait… whats the main event!
Abyss versus Tommy Dreamer in a Monsters Ball match with special ref/ enforcer- Mick Foley!!! After some trash cans and thumbtacks and Janice, Anderson runs in and botches his chair to the face spot on Abyss, but surprises him enough to catch a patented Mick Foley DDT, then he got the sock (right off Mick’s foot)… Anderson gave a funny promo noting that he wanted to tell a joke to Abyss, but that it would just go right over his head (referencing his missed chair shot, Dreamer stood on a chair in the middle of the ring and “lowered” the mic to Anderson, and that was the end of the show
Shows over, 20 bucks to get a pic in the ring with Mick, it was worth it just to step into the ring like the rock and hit the ropes and be told that that behavior was not aloud…
Don’t get me wrong, I had fun, but No A.J., No Pope, No Desmond Wolfe, No MCMG, Anderson couldn’t wrestle, RVD, Kurt and Jeff sat this one out… basically TNA sold this show on, well, the name of TNA which means Trust No Advertisements…
