Shawn Michaels’ Raffle Takes In Over $60,000 For Charity

Shawn Michaels noted on his twitter that his WrestleMania Raffle was a huge success and raised close to $60,000 for charity. He wrote:

"I cannot thank you all enough 4 helping out. Fact!! It just doesn’t happen w/out each & everyone of you. As always, I owe you. Thx. I want 2 let u all know I just got word we grossed close 2 60K on the raffle. THANK YOU!! That money is going 2 do sum GOOD!! Pardon the pandering, but dang it, thank you. I hope u will get how much ur needed!! By me, by somebody,somewhere. Mushy but true. I’ll try not 2b sentimental to much, but I can’t help it. That is just cool!! And u guys/gals did that. Thank you. OK, I’m done:-)"

The winner is Dantee M. Benton from Fredricksberg, VA. He/she and his/her guest will enjoy an all expense paid trip, as Shawn Michaels’ guest, to WrestleMania XXVII and to the WWE Hall of Fame Ceromony. And also be able to enjoy a private meeting with Shawn for photos, autographs, and a chat along with loads more prizes. All the proceeds go to the support of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Antonio, Operation Home Front, and Cross Trail Outfitters.

Nick was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and lived there until the age of 18, when he decided to pack his flack jacket and move to New York City.

Nick attended New York University and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Drama.

Nick first entered the internet wrestling community back in 2004 when he became the co-host of The Voice of Wrestling Radio Show. From there, Nick made the transition from radio personality to editor when he began working with WrestleZone in 2008.

Nick is a member of two Off-Broadway theatre companies, Another Urban Riff, and the Drama Desk Award winning Godlight Theatre Company. Nick has appeared in over a dozen Off-Broadway plays since he moved to New York City, and has shot several short and feature length films. In 2010, he completed principle photography on a film titled "How to Score Your Life," which also features TNA Knockout ODB.

Inspiration in his life has come from many people including his family, Woody Allen, Steven Spielberg, Jack Nicholson, The Beatles, and of course, Lassie.
