Matt and Jeff Hardy Beat Up The Bronx Giraffe At The Mets Game

The Hardys were swinging away on Thursday night.

Matt and Jeff Hardy were at Citi Field to promote TNA Slammiversary, which takes place on July 20 at the UBS Arena on Long Island.

The New York Mets have five new “racing mascots” this year, with each one representing a borough of New York City. There’s a slice of pizza for Brooklyn, a ferry for Staten Island, a skyscraper for Manhattan, a subway car for Queens, and a giraffe for the Bronx (Bronx Zoo). The giraffe hasn’t had much luck racing this year, as it has not won a race this entire season.

Thursday’s race took a bit of a pro wrestling-inspired turn. The giraffe not only blew its lead, but it was also attacked by a cow with a steel chair. The Hardys then took their frustrations out on the Bronx giraffe, as it bumped into them backstage. Matt and Jeff stomped the giraffe, with Jeff appearing to try and hit it with a Twist of Fate. The giraffe didn’t get up off of the ground, so Jeff hilariously started doing his infamous “juke” move while he and Matt put the boots to the giraffe.

Check out the clip of the mascot race and the Hardys’ beatdown on the giraffe below:

In case you’re wondering, the Mets beat the visiting Atlanta Braves 4 to 0. The Hardys also threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game:
