Booker T Didn’t See Stephanie Vaquer Being ‘The One,’ But She’s Done A Great Job

Booker T praises Stephanie Vaquer for her great work after initially seeing someone else being ‘the one’ in NXT.

Vaquer made her official NXT in-ring debut on the October 15th, 2024 episode of NXT on the CW Network. Since then, La Primera has seen nothing but success. Earlier this year, she defeated Fallon Henley to win her first championship in WWE, the NXT Women’s North American title.

She then went on to defeat her friend Giulia to become a double champion. She is the first female star to hold both the NXT Women’s World and North American Championships at the same time. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T shared his thoughts on the Dark Angel.

While speaking to Denise Salcedo, Booker T shared that he initially did not believe that Vaquer would be the top star in NXT. He believed it would be someone like Giulia or Zaria. But then Vaquer pushed herself and has done a great job.

“But it’s not for me, though, it’s not for me. It’s for Stephanie. It’s to shine some light on her. Because she’s so, she’s so freaking awesome. You know what I mean? She’s such a great talent. And she’s doing such a great job in NXT. I didn’t see her being the one. I thought it was going to be Giulia, you know, Zaria, one of those.

“But seemed like Stephanie Vaquer just slid in there, man. And she’s done such a great job as far as her in-ring performance as well as her entertainment value as well. And I just appreciate as well as we did the Bad Bunny theme together. So, she’s such a cool person, yeah,” Booker T said.
