WWE is making changes to the commentary teams.
Per Joe Otterson of Variety, Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett will serve as the RAW commentary team starting in September. Meanwhile, Michael Cole and Corey Graves will be SmackDown’s commentary team.
WWE previously announced that Tessitore, who covers college football on ABC and ESPN, would be joining the company. At WWE SummerSlam, the company confirmed that Tessitore would be starting on WWE RAW on September 2, while Cole would be moving to SmackDown.
Pat McAfee later announced that he would be taking time away from WWE due to his return to ESPN College GameDay. McAfee will return to WWE RAW when the show moves to Netflix in January.
These commentary changes come as SmackDown is moving to USA Network ahead of RAW’s jump to Netflix.
Michael Cole confirmed that he and Graves would be calling the action on WWE SmackDown during the August 26 episode of WWE RAW.
