WWE Received Over $500,000 In Site Fees And Incentives From San Antonio For Royal Rumble 2023

A new report provides more information about WWE Royal Rumble 2023.

Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics obtained government records regarding the event. The records show that the City of San Antonio gave WWE “$500,000 in value, including a $250,000 cash site fee”, in order to have the Alamodome host the Royal Rumble premium live event in 2023. The report notes that the city of San Antonio submitted expenses totaling $575,415.98 to the Texas Governor’s Office for reimbursement.

WWE previously filed a lawsuit against the Texas Attorney General, trying to block the release of the contract. Both WWE and the San Antonio government have claimed that it was a trade secret. This lawsuit is ongoing, but Thurston received the records in response to a public information request to the Office of the Governor.
