Ryo Mizunami Wins 11th TJPW Tokyo Princess Cup Tournament

After besting her “Yukiniki” tag partner Yuki Aino in the finals, TJPW crowned Ryo Mizunami as the Tokyo Princess Cup grand winner.

Prior to the finals, she defeated Haru Kazashiro, Rika Tatsumi, and Yuki Arai. Her former partner, Yuki Aino, defeated Runa Okubo, Shoko Nakajima, Yuki Kamifuku, and Zara Zakher to advance to the finals.

Both competitors went into the matchup eager to face the other in singles action for the first time. Ryo Mizunami and Yuki Aino have only competed together as a tag team. Pairing up has met them with equal success as former Princess Tag Team Champions.

However, only one woman could win the Tokyo Princess Cup 11. After a hard-hitting battle between two formidable opponents and allies, Ryo Mizunami ultimately picked up the three-count to win the tournament. By winning the Tokyo Princess Cup, she becomes next in line for a shot at TJPW’s top title: the Princess of Princess Championship. After the match, reigning champion Miu Watanabe confronted her future opponent to make the match official. TJPW then announced the title match for their Wrestle Princess 2024 show this coming September 22.

Prior to their Wrestle Princess match, Miu Watanabe and Ryo Mizunami have only competed in singles action once before at TJPW Summer Sun Princess 2022. Ryo picked up the win at the time, but she now faces a more determined and more established Miu Watanabe who currently holds the top championship in TJPW.

TJPW Wrestle Princess 2024 is set for the CHIBA Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall 6 on September 22. A live broadcast for the event will be available on Wrestle Universe by then.

WrestleZone will also provide further updates on the show as information becomes publicly available.
