Bryan Danielson: My Daughter Wants Me To Lose At ‘All In’ So I Can Just Be A Dad

Bryan Danielson revealed that his daughter doesn’t want him to win at AEW All In.

The American Dragon will retire from wrestling if he loses to Swerve Strickland at Wembley Stadium on Sunday. He has already committed to working a part-time schedule from now on, but will retire completely if he loses.

For his daughter Birdie, that would be the best thing to happen to him.

Bryan Danielson discussed AEW All In with Paul Franks of BBC Sounds. The American Dragon revealed that it was the first time his son would see him wrestle and that his daughter doesn’t remember the time she saw him at WrestleMania 35.

He noted that Birdie wants him to lose, so he can spend more time at home with her.

“It’ll be the first time my son’s ever seen me wrestle live.” Bryan Danielson revealed. “My daughter got to see me wrestle live at WrestleMania 35, but she was two years old and she doesn’t remember. So it’s really exciting. It’s exciting for our family. So, my wife will be there, and my kids will be there.”

“My son wants me to win, but also wants to see me get beat up a little bit. My daughter doesn’t want to see me get beat up, but she wants me to lose, so I can come home and just be a dad.”

“The big shift with my daughter came last year when I broke my arm. I wasn’t able to do All In because I broke my arm in a match two months before with Okada. It was the first time she saw Daddy “hurt hurt”. Then I was back for six weeks, then had two fractures in my orbital bone. So Daddy was not home, but he was having these really weird, horrific injuries!”
