Kris Statlander says the split from Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends was for the greater good.
The former TBS Champion turned heel earlier this year, turning her back on Orange Cassidy and the rest of the faction. She is set to team up with her manager Stokely Hathaway at Wembley Stadium later this month.
In the mixed tag team match, they will take on the duo of Tomohiro Ishii and Willow Nightingale, the latter of which Kris Statlander has been feuding with for some time. This bout will be on the AEW All In pre-show, and will mark all four women’s first appearances at the iconic English football stadium.
Kris Statlander appeared on The Mark Hoke Show, where she was asked about her current health and the recent break-up from Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends.
The former TBS Champion noted that her knees are great, but that splitting from her friends “broke me down” However, she added that it was for the greater good, and she has found new people to watch her back in AEW instead.
Kris Statlander said she had to do what’s best for her, so she did.
“Everything feels great! I’m a new woman.” Kris Statlander said. “I’ve got new knees, a new attitude, and I’m ready to take on anyone, anything. [Even Orange Cassidy.] I’d punch him again if I had to.”
“When we were going through all that, it absolutely broke me down inside.” She added. “It’s hard to lose someone. Especially to lose multiple people that you care about so much. But ultimately, you’ve got to do what’s best, you know? Do it for the greater good. As much as it hurts to move on, you have to find new relationships, new friendships, and new people to have your back.”
