Bryan Danielson Says He’ll Need Neck Surgery Before 2024 Is Over

During Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, Bryan Danielson revealed that he’ll likely need to get neck surgery before the end of the year.

Speaking with Jim Ross in a vignette that played on Saturday, Danielson spoke about his upcoming Title vs. Career match against Swerve Strickland at AEW All In, Danielson said that the way he’s feeling now, surgery is likely to have to happen.

“Even the way I’m feeling now…I mean, the odds are I’m gonna have to get neck surgery before the end of this year,” said Danielson. “That’s the reality of it. That’s something that I’ve accepted is coming down the pike relatively soon.”

Danielson’s history with his neck injury dates back a decade, with the wrestler having had several surgeries, and even partially retiring in 2015 due to the injury. Although Danielson has said he has no plans to retire fully in previous statements, his match against Strickland does carry some heavy stipulations, and with another surgery possibly looming, it’s anyone’s guess as to what the future holds for the legend.
